Online counselling throughout the UK

Making sense of being human.

Life doesn’t always make sense. Relationships, work, anxiety, change — or simply feeling that things aren’t quite right.

I’m Stephen, an experienced counsellor offering a thoughtful, down-to-earth space to explore what’s happening and find different ways forward. No jargon. No judgement. No expectation that you should already have the answers.

What brings people to counselling?

There’s no single right reason.

Feeling overwhelmed

Stress, anxiety, burnout, self-doubt, or a mind that won’t switch off.

Relationships & belonging

Communication, conflict, loneliness, boundaries, or feeling misunderstood.

Finding your way

Changes, loss, difficult choices, or patterns you want to understand.

A particular understanding of tech

Some problems can’t be debugged.

After thirty years designing and developing computer systems, I know a thing or two about solving technical problems. These days I also work with people — whose lives don’t always respond quite so well to logic.

If you work in IT, you’ll find a counsellor who knows the culture from the inside. And you don’t have to talk about work unless you want to.

Working together

A conversation, not a repair job.

Counselling isn’t about someone telling you what’s wrong with you. It’s a chance to explore your experience, look at familiar things differently and discover what might help.

“Sometimes the most useful thing isn’t finding a fix. It’s finding a different way of understanding the problem.”
